Philosophy
Gan Yeladim is an inclusive early childhood program, grounded in Jewish values and embracing a Reggio Emilia philosophy. We respect and encourage the individuality of each child and seek to instill a love and pride of being Jewish by providing meaningful experiences for children and their families in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
The Reggio Emilia approach originated in the town of Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy in the mid 20th century.
Fundamental to the Reggio approach is the belief that children are curious, and capable creators of meaning. Through play, observation, and interaction children drive their own learning. Teachers work together with the children as co-explorers, and learners. They provide further opportunities for children to explore developmental learning through play. By integrating the Reggio Emilia Approach, we empower children to take an active role in their learning journey, fostering a love of discovery and laying the foundation for lifelong curiosity and confidence.
